OLYMPICS: U.S. Continues to Lead Medal Count

Team USA continues to lead the overall medal count with 36, while China has 29 and the Russian Olympic Committee has 25.

However, China has more gold with 14 medals, compared to Team USA's 13. The U.S. has 13 silver and 10 bronze, while China has six silver and nine bronze. ROC has seven gold medals, 11 silver and seven bronze. (ESPN)

Team USA continued to do well in the pool with Caeleb Dressel and Bobby Finke both taking gold. Dressel won the 100 free, setting an Olympic record in the process, while Finke took the 800 freestyle.

Also in swimming, the U.S. women took silver in the 4 x 200 meter relay, with anchor swimmer Katie Ledecky catching and passing favorites Australia, but she couldn't quite knock off China. All three teams broke the previous world record. (ESPN)
