Bobby Shmurda held the “Father’s Day Give Back Brunch” in Brooklyn, an event for 200 underprivileged families to receive free meals and haircuts.
Set up for fathers and their children, but Shmurda and his team treated anyone at The Win Shelter with a Caribbean brunch with jerk salmon, curried chickpeas, stewed chicken, mac and cheese and more. Three barbers provided free haircuts to all dads and kids in attendance.
Shmurda also handed out gaming consoles, board games, action figures, footballs, jump ropes, costumes and more to the kids and the dads, they were provided with some new clothing and books.
Earlier this year, Bobby Shmurda's “Hot N*gga” jumped from platinum to 5x-platinum.
The track only certified platinum when he was arrested in 2014 and now his Shmurda She Wrote debut EP is certified gold while “Bobby Bitch” went platinum as well.
Rowdy Rebel also regained his freedom in December after four years behind bars. He and Shmurda’s “Computers” just went gold.
Smurda was released from Clinton Correctional Facility just 10 months earlier than expected.
Bobby will now be under parole supervision for the next 5 years, after getting his conditional release date bumped up by the Time Allowance Committee. The decision was made after reviewing his behavior and participation in prison programs.
Shmurda had been in custody since December 2014, and was sentenced to 6 to 7 years in prison after a plea deal to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon.
Bobby plans to hit the ground running with his music, as he'll devote most, if not all, of his time to recording, except for reporting to his parole officer who he has to check in with regularly.
Rowdy Rebel said that the two will be at this year's Summer Jam, as Shmurda has been behind bars since he was arrested along with Rebel in 2014. Bobby obtained his credit for good behavior and was approved to serve the rest of his sentence on parole.
