Drake Dismissed From Astroworld Festival Lawsuit

It has been two and a half years since the tragic Astroworld Festival incident that resulted in the death of 10 individuals in the audience. The incident occurred during the 2021 edition of Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival, sparking conversations about crowd safety and emergency procedures for similar live events. Legal proceedings are ongoing for Scott and some of the companies involved in promoting and organizing the festival. However, Drake, who performed on stage with Travis Scott during the controversial show, will no longer be part of the legal battle. Several lawsuits named Drake as a defendant, alleging his involvement contributed to the chaotic atmosphere. Despite being included in the consolidated lawsuit, Drake has been granted release from all claims, as confirmed by TMZ following a recent court ruling.

This decision comes after Drake's initial request to be dismissed from the lawsuit last month. In contrast, Travis Scott's attempt to distance himself from responsibility for the festival's safety measures was rejected by the judge. Similarly, Apple's request to be removed from the lawsuit was also denied. The tech company had streamed the performance on their Apple Music platform. Travis Scott made a comeback with his album UTOPIA last year after a hiatus from releasing new music. The album featured a collaboration with Drake on the track "Meltdown," which became one of the record's most popular songs. Keep it locked to 103.5 The Beat for more!
